Research
My research interests lie at the intersection of gender and work. My dissertation focuses on the bidirectional relationship between work and experiences tied to ovarian hormone changes (e.g., menstruation, maternity, and menopause). In my dissertation, I apply an organizational justice framework to these changes and develop a theory for the evolution of needs across menstruation, maternity, and menopause that highlights the role organizations play in meeting individual’s needs according to their experiences. I also have research that examines the role of hormone changes across the menstrual cycle and how these changes impact risk-taking behaviors. My other research interests include female leadership diversity and how female leaders impact followers. I also runs the Team Lab Experience for Freshman in the MSU Broad College of Business, which builds leadership and team skills.
My research answers questions like how are men and women different from and similar to each other? How do hormones explain within-person and between-person differences in women? What drives people to deliver equitable allocations between genders?
